TWO pals have pushed their bodies and minds to the limit in aid of charity.

Gregor Restell, from Overton, and Richard Spiers, of Hatch Warren, took on an ultra marathon along The Test Way on Saturday in aid of SANDS.

The charity helps families who have suffered the loss of a baby through stillbirth and neonatal death with both Gregor, 37, and Richard, 35, knowing people who have been through such harrowing times.

The pair raised more than £2,900 for the cause in taking on the 52-mile challenge, crossing the finishing line together in a time of 11 hours and 30 minutes.

Gregor's wife Emma said: "They really helped each other through it as it is not just a physical challenge but mental as well to go through that pain.

"I'm very proud of them. It is an amazing amount to raise. People have been so generous, even complete strangers have donated."
