SHOPPERS are being asked to help the county's air ambulance during their supermarket visits.

People shopping at Tesco Express in Ludgershall and Tesco in Tidworth to drop their tokens in the bin of Wiltshire Air Ambulance as part of the chain's Bags of Help scheme throughout April.

A post on the air ambulance's Facebook said that the support would be "so very much appreciated".

It added: "We need to keep our team protected from the elements whilst they are out assisting Wiltshire Police searching for vulnerable missing people and are appealing for your help to provide them with specialist jackets!

"We have 20 new trainees joining us this month and they will really benefit from the protection these jackets provide "Whatever the weather our team of professionally trained volunteers will leave the warmth of their homes, beds and families to help save lives."
