AN ANDOVER actress with Down’s Syndrome strutted down her first catwalk.

Charlotte Portsmouth walked in the event at New Edinburgh Woollen Mill, in High Street, on Thursday last week in aid of Andover and District Mencap.

She was talent spotted by the store manager Samantha Severa.

Samantha said: “Her family are loyal customers. Charlotte and her mother were trying to decide which outfits to buy. Charlotte started posing with each outfit.

“I was discussing this season’s show with Mencap ambassador Iris Andersen. We both went ‘wow, she would be a great model, lets ask if she’d like to be in the show’. Charlotte said ‘yes’.

“Iris offered to model as well.”

The event was well attended with standing room only in the store.

New Edinburgh Woollen Mill fashion events raise money for charity.

Ambassador Iris added: “This is a fantastic event.

“Community, charity and business come together and everyone benefits.”
