A HOME in Amport has been damaged in a fire which also destroyed two derelict buildings.

Crews were called to Sarson Lane at around 11.30am yesterday (Tuesday) and tackled the blaze for over two hours.

The fire engulfed two wooden buildings and ruined an agricultural vehicle. A neighbouring bungalow also suffered from heat damage to its windows.

Residents living nearby said that power in the surrounding area was cut for a “short amount of time for safety”.

Firefighters from Andover, Sutton Scotney and Alresford were called to the scene.

The fire was extinguished by 1.58pm, but it is expected that crews will remain on the scene this afternoon to dampen down.
