FAMILIES will have the opportunity to air their concerns over Special Educational Needs (SEN) funding cuts in a meeting with their MP next month.

Kit Malthouse, MP for North West Hampshire, has agreed to a follow-up meeting with #NeedsToo campaigners at the Guildhall, in Andover, on Friday, July 12, at 1pm.

The meeting will also be open to the public, subject to contacting Mr Malthouse in advance, and will offer a chance to talk about the current and proposed cuts to SEN funding in the area.

The #NeedsToo group came together earlier this year to fight for the rights of children and adults with disabilities, and have already met with Mr Malthouse on one occasion.

In April its members levelled questions at their local MP who promised a follow-up meeting once he had taken the group’s concerns back to Hampshire County Council and to parliament.

The group has also gained the ‘whole-hearted’ support of Andover and District Mencap in its campaigning.

Those who wish to attend the meeting should contact Mr Malthouse directly, by supplying their name and address in an email sent to kit.malthouse.mp@parliament.uk.
