A MURDER investigation has been launched in Andover. 

Police are carrying out an investigation following the death of a 30-year-old woman, from Andover, at an address in Suffolk Road.

Officers were called to the property shortly after 5.30am today (June 23).

Formal identification procedures are ongoing however her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

The woman has been named online by family members as Lucy Dyson. 

A police helicopter has also been seen searching the area surrounding the street.

A neighbour living nearby said: "About six this morning I heard screaming and looked out the window and saw police and ambulance here."

Detective Chief Inspector John McGonigle said: “Our thoughts are with the woman’s family and friends at this extremely difficult time.

“We are carrying out extensive enquiries so you will see a significant policing presence in the community.

“We understand that this news will be very upsetting for those living in the area, but I would like to reassure you that our officers are in the area conducting searches, carrying out house-to-house enquiries and following several lines of enquiry.

“At this stage we do not believe that there is an ongoing risk to the wider community but if you have any concerns please speak to our officers on patrol.”
