DEDICATED carers have been given a treat to show thanks for their hard work.

To celebrate National Carers Week 2019, which ran from June 10 to 14, The Princess Royal Trust for Carers in Hampshire, carers in Andover were treated to cream tea at The White Hart Hotel in Bridge Street.

Mayor of Test Valley Councillor Martin Hatley also paid the carers a visit to praise the work they do.

Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Asda offered up treats for the event, while the White Hart provided the room for the event.

Chief executive of the trust, Kerry Hearsey MBE said: “It was a pleasure to see so many carers attend the Carers Week events this year to enjoy a bit of ‘me time’ and some time away from their caring responsibilities.”

During National Carers Week 2019, the trust held many events across the county in support of carers.

These included pamper days, cream teas, boat trips, garden tours and train rides and coffee mornings, to name a few.
