AN ANDOVER man has been arrested in connection with the robbery of a 20-year-old woman.
The victim was grabbed around the waist and pushed by a man at about midday on Monday, September 9, in Castle Street, Salisbury.
He then demanded a cigarette and money from the woman, who handed over a small amount of cash.
The man walked off in the direction of St Thomas’ Church.
Today (Sunday), just 70 minutes after an appeal by Wiltshire police, a 46-year-old man has been arrested, but police are still appealing for information into the robbery.
PC Eleanor Darcy said: “The victim in this case did not know the man involved and was left shaken up by his actions. We have released a CCTV image of a man we are keen to speak to in connection with the incident and would urge anyone who may recognise him, or anyone who witnessed the incident, to call 101 and quote crime reference number 54190089369.”
Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
