A WARNING has been issued following a report of a man offering roofing work in Overton this week.
On Thursday a man tried to encourage a vulnerable person living in Winchester Street to part with money for roof work that did not need to be done.
Luckily a “very observant” resident interjected after seeing what was happening and prevented the crime from taking place.
According to Hampshire police the man offering the work got into a white Astra estate and drove off with four other men inside.
In an alert, PCSO Andrew Jones said: “Please take the time to look out for vulnerable residents that live in your area, that may be at risk of being encouraged to undertake work on their property which might not need the work doing.
“If you suspect any concern or wrong doing call the police on 101 with your concerns.”
