A SUNDAY morning football team has presented a cheque to a local school on behalf of one of its biggest fans.
FC Anton recently arranged a fundraising five-mile relay race, and the team’s players suggested donating proceeds to Icknield school on behalf of pupil Jamie Perry.
Grandad Doug says Jamie, a huge football fan, has been following FC Anton for the last three years and is a big hit with the players, committees and supporters.
Ahead of a recent game, FC Anton’s players and staff presented a cheque for £600 to Jamie and Icknield headteacher Sean Cannon.
Sean said he was absolutely delighted that the school was chosen to receive the money and it would go a long way to help them and thanked everyone involved.
FA Anton manager Donnie Dolan said he was proud of everyone involved with the relay, the amount raised and would like to thank all the People who had kindly sponsored the event.
