The latest Covid-19 test results show that cases in Test Valley continue to decline, with a case rate dramatically below the English average.

In the week leading up to November 27, Test Valley recorded 83 cases, a fall of 39 from the week before, with a rolling rate of 65.8 cases per 100,000 people.

Test Valley is also broken into smaller geographic areas, known as MSOAs, or Middle Layer Super Output Areas, which are smaller, postcode-linked areas that are used for a range of government statistics.

Breaking down the cases over the week up to November 27 by area, Nether Wallop, Kings Somborne & Dunbridge has the lowest number of cases in the area, with three cases and a rate of 38.6 per 100,000 people.

Andover Newbury Road, which encompasses parts of River Way and Roman Way, had the same number of cases but a slightly higher rate, at 39.1 per 100,000. This is a an increase of one case from the previous week.

Over Wallop & Shipton Bellinger and Andover West both had four cases each, while Andover Central had five cases.

The local area with the most cases in that seven day period was Andover London Road and East Anton, with 27 cases and a rate of 159.2 per 100,000 people. This was an increase of 68.8 per cent on the previous week, and places its rate above the English average of 157.6.

As of Wednesday, December 2, Test Valley had reported 1,521 positive cases of Covid-19, with nine cases recorded on that day.

Since peaking in the first two weeks of November, positive tests in the borough have declined significantly.
