DEDICATED staff working in GP practices across north Hampshire have been inundated with nominations in an awards scheme.

The Wow! Awards, launched in March this year in the North Hampshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CGG) area, encourages patients to nominate those healthcare staff they feel have delivered amazing care and service.

The awards are proving to be a great success, with more than 90 nominations coming in.

Katie Morgan-Wheeler, Chris Embleton and Linda Baker, who all work within the healthcare service which is covered by the North Hampshire CCG are the latest recipients of these awards.

Wendy Gray, deputy director of quality and nursing at North Hampshire CCG, presented the trio with their Wow! Awards.

She said: “Reading through the heartfelt nominations people had taken the time to write was profoundly moving and really helps to remind us why we all came into healthcare in the first place. The positive impact these frontline staff are able to have on their patients is hard to measure and it feels great to be able to recognise it in this way.

“We are so proud of all of our healthcare professionals who continue to deliver such amazing service to the patients that they work with.”

The award nominations fall into three categories – ‘excellent care,’ for those individuals who have exceeded the expectations of their patients, ‘above and beyond the call of duty’, and ‘collaborative working’.

This last category is for those professionals who have helped to empower patients to be more actively involved in managing their healthcare or developed new ways of working that help patients to access the right care, in the right place and at the right time.
