MEMBERS of a quilting club came together to raise funds for charity, as well as put on an exhibition.
North Hampshire Quilters, a group of 65 women from the area with a shared love of patchwork and quilting, held its biennial show last weekend on Saturday, 3 November and Sunday, 4 November.
Opening the show and giving a talk on quilting and sewing was the star of the TV programme The Great British Sewing Bee, the ‘Sewing Soldier’ Neil Stace, who featured in the show’s third series.
In addition to the quilts exhibited, several were also raffled off to raise money for charity, which this time around raised funds for Saxon Wood School.
The final total is still being calculated, but over the years, the group has raised thousands of pounds for a variety of charities.
Around 200 items were on display at The Costello School, where the event was held.
