A STEP to preserve young people’s futures in the borough has been taken by the cabinet at Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council.
Members approved on Tuesday a plan to endorse the Brighter Futures scheme, which aims to create opportunities for children and young people in the borough.
The vision will be a collaborative piece of work that will build upon services which already available to young people in Basingstoke and Deane.
Councillor Simon Bound, cabinet member for communities and community safety said: “Supporting children, young people and their families to thrive is a key ambition of my portfolio.
“However, this is not something the council can achieve alone. That is why I am delighted that Basingstoke Area Strategic Partnership (BASP) has recently adopted Brighter Futures.”
Cllr Bound said that the scheme would enable the borough council to work closely with partners to support children, young people and their families now and in to the future.
