A SIX-year-old from Chineham has been rubbing elbows with some famous faces to raise awareness of his charity single.

Max Edney was the special guest of Chris Evans on a special Virgin Radio show for Children in Need this week.

Max, with the help of songwriter James Pryce and vocalist Nick Fowden, has released the charity single In Our Bones to raise awareness of the condition the six-year-old has.

Max has been diagnosed with Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), better known as brittle bone disease, and it is his and his family’s aim to get the new single in to the top 10 of the music charts.

On Tuesday, Max was invited along to the Children in Need event which had a guest list of just 100 people who had pledged money to the children’s charity.

While hanging out with radio presenter Chris Evans, Max also introduced singer Tom Odell to the stage ahead of his performance and also was the only person on stage to introduce Michael Bublé, who had taken a break from his world tour to attend the event in the New Forest.

As well as meeting the singer, the six-year-old took the opportunity to get shout-outs for his campaign from the likes of Stacey Dooley, Beverley Knight, Rick Astley and Liam Payne to promote the single.

Max’s father Steve told the Gazette: “Sales have been going really well and we have been in and out of the Amazon and iTunes charts.

“It has been amazing to have the backing of all these celebrities who have endorsed the single and given it a push.”

The single was officially launched on Friday last week on Zoe Ball’s BBC Radio 2 show.

Steve added: “We really want to get in those charts and make a difference for the charity, so if people buy a copy by Friday then it gives us a chance.”

Max’s single is available to buy, download or stream from all major music platforms.
