THAT Fast and Furious rumour has really put Basingstoke on the map.
Just days after it was falsely circulating on social media that the latest installment of the franchise was being recorded at Festival Place, another film crew has been spotted in the town.
On Monday, The Gazette reported the BBC's Rogue Traders were filming a skit in a car park on Brighton Hill.
And now The Gazette can reveal Top Gear has come to town. The stars of BBC motoring show were spotted at Basingstoke County Hotel on London Road.
A Gazette source said that the trio of Freddie Flintoff, Paddy McGuiness and Chris Harris were seen at the hotel today filming a piece about cheap convertible cars.
Photographs show an old convertible used for the programme being towed away after filming.
This comes just days after Rouge Traders host Matt Allwright was scene filming in the Brighton Hill Retail Park.
Basingstoke is no stranger to the flagship motoring show.
In 2008 Jeremy Clarkson, The Stig and the Top Gear crew were welcomed into Festival Place.
This formed one of the shows iconic car chases including a Ford Fiesta.
