AN MP is urging Basingstoke’s filmmakers to enter a prestigious Parliamentary competition.
Maria Miller is calling on people to enter ‘Film the House’.
The competition, set up to educate members and young people of the importance of creative industries to the economy, has six different categories, three of which are specifically for people under 16.
They include Best Film Script and Best Short Film, with the closing date being December 19.
Ms Miller said: “This competition is a great opportunity for local amateur filmmakers to showcase their originality and talent. I would urge anyone in Basingstoke with ability and ambition in this area to get involved.
“Pick up a camera – even the one on your phone – and start filming,” she continued.
All entries are judged by local MPs in the first instance, the encourage them to get involved with the project.
