BASINGSTOKE police have had a result this afternoon - managing to arrest nine suspects in relation to the Apple store robbery.

It comes after the Gazette earlier reported how shoppers looked on in horror as three men attacked a security guard before making off with a number of iPhones.

It's thought that more than £8,000 worth of goods were stolen.

But after a police hunt involving an helicopter and officeres on the ground, they managed to track down the suspects and recover seven stolen phones.

Nine people have been taken into custody where they will be questioned. 

A spokesman for Basingstoke Police: "We received a call shortly after midday today (13 November) with reports that 7 iPhones were stolen from the Apple Store in Festival Place.

"Officers deployed to the area and have arrested a total of 9 people as part of this investigation. They are all in police custody at this time.

"We have also recovered all 7 of the missing phones.
