TWO fire engines were called out after an electric shower caused a fire in a house in Winklebury last night.
Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service were called out to the property in Dover Close just after 7pm last night.
Two breathing apparatuses and one hose reel were used to extinguish the fire, as well as a ventilation fan.
Crews were on the scene for around an hour.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Fire and Rescue service said: "We got the call at 19.11 for a domestic fire in Dover Close. It was a fire in a bathroom in a domestic property.
"Two fire engines and an officer from Basingstoke attended. The stop message came in at 20.12.
"Two breathing apparatuses and one hose reel were used. Positive Pressure Ventilation was used for smoke clearance."
