POLICE in Basingstoke are asking for the public's help in deciding what their priorities should be.

Basingstoke Borough Neighbourhood Policing Teams, part of Hampshire Constabulary, have launched an online survey for residents to give them their feedback and advise on what they think the priorities should be.

They say: "Our aim is to reduce crime and anti social behaviour and increase confidence in the police, as well as to make your neighbourhood a safer place to live and work.

"All we ask is that you spare five minutes to complete this survey to give us a clear understanding of the issues that matter to you.

"We will use these results, along with police and partner agency data, to set our priorities for the next three months."

It comes after an apparent rise in the number of burglaries in the area.

The Gazette has previously reported on a number of incidents over the past months where people have been caught on CCTV trying car door handles and breaking into properties.

It also comes amongst increase concern amongst residents over County Lines.

A post on the Basingstoke Cops Facebook page added: "It is always our intention to build and maintain a strong relationship with the local community and receive residents' feedback so that we are better equipped and educated to meet your policing needs."
