POLICE have confirmed that an earlier incident which left a stretch of motorway closed has been "safely resolved".
The M27 westbound, between Junction 4 and Junction 3, had previously been closed due to a “concern for welfare call on the bridge over the motorway”.
Junction 14 of the M3 southbound, where the motorway joins the M27, was also shut, but officers have confirmed that all closures are now being lifted.
However heavy delays remain in the area, with 80 minutes delays being reported.
#Hampshire motorists pls be aware there are LONG DELAYS on the #M3 southbound due to this collision with congestion back to #Winchester. There are approx. 4.5 miles of congestion which is expected to add 45 minutes to usual travel times. #Basingstoke #M25 traffic pls plan ahead.
