Hampshire emergency services are pleading with drivers not to ignore road signs after a car got stuck in a flooded road beneath a bridge.
Firefighters and police officers were called out to Milkingpen Lane in Old Basing after a driver could no longer move.
Taking to Twitter, Hants Fire Control wrote: "Please don’t ignore **ROAD CLOSED** signs. They are there for a reason. Basingstoke's Green Watch rescued on person who got stuck in flood water.
"Take care when driving in, and after, heavy rain. Don’t take chances!! One car even tried to drive round us to do the same!!"
One resident shared photographs to Facebook: "Three fire engines, an ambulance and a police car. All for some idiot who tried to drive through a bridge."
