PARTS of Hampshire are preparing for more heavy rain this afternoon, just days after Storm Brendan brought chaos to the area.

Overnight on Monday and Tuesday, wind and rain battered North Hampshire, bringing down trees, ripping cladding off buildings and causing treacherous driving conditions.

And the region is set to get another deluge as the Met Office have issued another yellow weather warning for rain this afternoon.

Coming into effect from 3pm, it will last until 11.45pm and covers Basingstoke, Winchester, Southampton, Portsmouth, the Isle of Wight and Brighton.

The Met Office say that persistent heavy rain could lead to spray on the roads and transport delays, with flooding possible in places.

20-30mm of rain is likely, with 40mm possible.

The forecaster say that "flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely, bus and train services probably affected with journey times taking longer and spray and flooding on roads probably making journey times longer".

It comes just days after the region was affected by transport delays caused by the weather, and several trees were brought down.

Cladding was ripped from the side of a block of flats in Rooksdown, whilst there was accidents on the M3 and the A343.
