In the realms of reality television, it's fair to say the humble town of Basingstoke sometimes gets overlooked.
But tonight the town finally got the recognition it deserved.
Love Island narrator gave a shout out to Basingstoke during the third part of Friday's episode.
The Scottish native said: "Apologies to the Wilson triplets from Basingstoke."
While he may have uttered just seven words, the mere mention of the town was enough to delight many viewers at home.
Fans of the ITV hit show took to Twitter to express their delight.
One wrote: "Basingstoke getting a mention on Love Island? I am here for it!"
Another added: "Basingstoke finally getting the recognition it deserves!"
While even in the Basingstoke Gazette work WhatsApp group tongues were wagging.
"Who ARE they Wilson twins?" it was asked by one reporter.
We will be contacting Mr Stirling for comment. Updates as we get them.
