THE borough council will be closing its Parklands reception to the public as of Monday, March 23.
The decision has been taken to protect residents and staff following the latest government advice around the Covid-19 outbreak.
It means no face-to-face appointments will be carried out, but residents are advised they can still request appointments to be carried out via telephone.
Cabinet Member for Environment and Enforcement, and responsible for customer services, Cllr Hayley Eachus said: “Following the latest guidance from government, we have taken the difficult decision to help protect our residents and staff by closing our reception.
“We are committed to keeping disruption to our services to a minimum for our residents during this time and we will be closely monitoring the number of calls we are receiving. As the situation continues to change, we will keep decisions under review.
“Residents can keep up-to-date on our services on our website which will be regularly updated, follow our Twitter and Facebook pages and can contact us by email or telephone. I would like to thank residents for their patience at this time.”
