A PREMIER league football club has written a message of support to a Basingstoke care home.
Liverpool Football Club, who were top of the league and on the verge of winning their first ever Premier League title before the season was suspended because of the coronavirus outbreak, were contacted by staunch support and carer Pippa Passingham, who works at St Thomas Care Home.
The Reds did not disappoint, sending a message signed by their first team squad as well as manager Jurgen Klopp. It read: "To residents and staff at St Thomas's. With very sincere wishes and thoughts. Stay strong. From all the players and staff at Liverpool Football Club. You'll Never Walk Alone!"
General Manager, Helena Hawkins, said: "During these challenging times it is fantastic that the hard work and commitment of our staff here at St Thomas has been acknowledged.
"Also, for our residents who have not been able to have visits from their loved ones for several weeks, this recognition from Liverpool Football Club has given them the opportunity to have some rather animated conversations around football.
"There was even a small indoor football match held in our conservatory."
