THE highly-anticipated reopening of a popular high street store in Basingstoke will take place later this month, the Gazette can reveal.

H&M in Festival Place used its lockdown closures to revamp its look, but as the second largest clothing retailer in the world, customers have been eager to get back into store.

Speaking to the Gazette earlier this year, Toni Galli, country manager for H&M UK and IE, said: "We are extremely excited to be reopening our H&M Basingstoke store in Festival Place with a first of its kind new look and feel."

The Gazette asked H&M's customer service team when shoppers can expect the doors to open once more, and can reveal that reopening is planned for Friday, May 28.

Opening hours will be 9.30am-7pm, Monday to Saturday, and 11am to 5pm on Sundays.

Founded in Sweden in 1947, H&M opened its first UK store in 1976 and now has more than 240 stores across the UK and Ireland.

The retailer's new look in Basingstoke will be the first of its kind in the UK.
