A BEACH day has been held at a Hampshire nursery school to launch its giant sandpit and raise cash for a good cause.
More than 30 children from Fairlands Nursery School, Shedfield, near Bishop's Waltham, played in the sand and raised over £160 for Naomi House children's charity.
The new facility was one of several built with a £20,000 from Hampshire County Council that has paid for an outdoor classroom, a library, fencing and new carpets.
Parents and staff have also raised £2,000 in the last two years for toys and equipment.
Nursery boss Jo Skinner said: "The day was absolutely fantastic everyone had fun and we were really pleased with the money raised."
