MOST people shudder at the thought of sorting out clutter, but an organised mum has launched a business tidying up other people’s mess.

Lisa Healey, from Hatch Warren, was inspired to set up her own business after helping a friend sort out her home.

The 44-year-old mother-of-two explained: “I used to sell Usborne Books and I was winding that down and didn’t know what I wanted to do next. I was talking to a friend and she said, ‘it’s nearly Christmas and my family are coming over and I have no space’. I said I had a bit of time and would sort some things out for her. She offered to pay me, and I said no but it got me thinking, and it took off from there.”

Lisa goes into people’s homes and can organise a room, sheds, garages, storage containers or even an entire house, decluttering and making space.

She said: “I’m really good at judging people. So, some people are quite ruthless and want things gone and other people are quite emotional, so I have to work with them decide what’s going to stay and what’s not.”

Lisa, who used to work for IBM, also considers the environment, recycling whatever she can or donating it to charity shops, to prevent waste ending up in landfill.

She works with a variety of clients, from people who struggle to sort out their clutter because of mental health issues, to those who just don’t have the time or aren’t physically able to do it themselves.

“Seeing the end result is very satisfying,” she said, adding: “I enjoy helping people and helping them with a problem that they are unable to do themselves for whatever reason, whether it be mental, physical or time. I start off with this complete mess and end up with something that looks amazing.”

Lisa said it can take around four to five hours to tidy an average sized room, but this depends on how much clutter there is.

She can travel up to 30 miles, covering areas including Andover and Romsey.
