A HAMPSHIRE logistics company has moved into bigger premises to expand its services.

Regional Express has relocated to 19,000sqft unit at Nursling Industrial Estate which is four times the size of its previous home.

Founded in 2012, Regional Express which employs 19 staff, became part of the Xpediator group two years ago.

Managing director, Neil Curran, said: "This will transform what we do and how we do it. With the continued growth of e-commerce marketplaces and digitalisation of the freight industry it is important that we continue to grow and offer suitable solutions to our customer base.

"With the added space and Access Delta warehouse management system in place we are able to offer a full storage and fulfilment service."

He added: "We are also in a fantastic position here, just a very short distance from Southampton Docks, allowing us to quickly turn around our ocean import shipments.

"We are well placed to help the local business community and economy."

As a freight forwarder, Regional's biggest customer base up to now has been Amazon sellers looking to ship their product onto the e-commerce platform, transporting orders out of the USA and China to the UK and Europe.

The company is an approved solution provider for Amazon.

The new location means they can offer other services in the marketplace include short and long term storage with 1,400 pallet spaces of racking, door-to door logistics, both internationally and in the UK, courier operations and online fully automated pick and pack services.

Neil said three new jobs had been created by the move and there further three to five warehouse staff were likely to be taken on in the next few months.

"We believe we have a full range of solutions across everything we do, allowing us to be a true one stop shop service provider for all our customers" said Neil who was appointed managing director in November 2017.

The company was founded by Eric Buggy and Geoff Evans and Neil was one of the first staff members. Eric is still with the company as a non-executive director.
