About 150 pupils from Romsey Abbey Primary School took part in Friday evening’s concert celebration its achievements at the Southampton and Portsmouth Music Festival.
Guests at the celebrations included the Mayor and Mayoress of Romsey, Mike and Rita Curtis, and Test Valley’s Mayor and Mayoress, Chris and Frances Lynn, John Coughlin, director of Hampshire’s children’s services, Jill Larmer, head of the county’s music services and Adam Broughton, director of the Romsey Area Schools Orchestras.
Chairman of Romsey Abbey School governors, Chris Riley, said: “The fantastic concert celebrated the school winning eight trophies at the Southampton and Portsmouth Music Festival and followed the recent inspection which graded the school’s progress as outstanding since its previous inspection.”
Vicar, the Rev Tim Sledge, congratulated the school children on their achievements at the music festival during Friday’s concert.
