ALRESFORD looked both backwards and across the Channel on Easter Saturday.
The town trust oversaw a feast of heritage whilst a traditional French market brought Gallic wares including cheeses, fresh bread and records.
The unique annual event was organised by Alresford Town trustee,Pam Stevens, as part of the open day programme.
Winchester and Chandler’s Ford MP Steve Brine dropped in to meet the traders before walking down the hill to officially open the new museum at the Old Fire Station.
Mr Brine said: “The new museum is small but beautifully presented. It’s long overdue and along with the stunning old Tichborne fire engine built in 1893 is really worth a visit. The French market was great and brought something different to the town.”
Robin Atkins, chairman of the trustees, praised the volunteers and Roy Gentry and his museum committee.
