A MOTORIST clocked at doing more than 90mph on a country road has been fined £1,000.
Philip Dowson, 55, of Sutton Scotney Road, Micheldever Station, was recorded by a police officer driving at 95mph in a 66-reg Audi on the single-carriageway stretch of the A33 near Micheldever when the legal limit is 60mph, on December 29 last year.
Magistrates in Aldershot imposed the four-figure fine as well as a £100 victim surcharge, £85 costs and six penalty points on his driving licence.
Because of the high speed involved the magistrates had considered disqualification.
