ENCORE Youth Theatre (EYT) is making history with this year’s highly anticipated musical theatre production.

For the first time it is being choreographed by a male dancer.

Henry Morris grew up in Winchester and appeared in seven EYT shows, starting in the chorus and finishing as one of their leading actors.

He said: “It’s incredible to be back with ENCORE working with this group of insanely talented young people. Creatively, it’s been fascinating to take my experience in contemporary dance and to apply it to a musical.

“All the cast are eager to be pushed and are taking every step in their stride.”

The show, Hot Mikado, will be at Theatre Royal Winchester from February 20 to February 22.

Noel Jones, artistic director of EYT said: “It’s been unbelievably brilliant having Henry back as part of the Artistic Team. There could not be a better example to our young male members.”
