SOUTHAMPTON Under-23s will travel to Bournemouth in the Hampshire FA Cup quarter-finals.
But rather than facing the Cherries, Radhi Jaidi’s side - winners of the Southampton Senior Cup last season - will travel to Victoria Park, home of Sydenhams Wessex League outfit Bournemouth Poppies.
The Poppies, currently fourth in the Premier Division table, pulled off a bit of a coup to book their passage to the last eight.
Trailing 1-0 to Evo-Stik South One leaders Blackfield & Langley, they hit back through River Smith and sub Charlie Langston for a surprise 2-1 success.
Wessex leaders Sholing will host the winners of the delayed Horndean v AFC Bournemouth tie, while Team Solent must visit holders Havant & Waterlooville who play four tiers higher in the National League.
Fareham Town will welcome Martin Kuhl’s Basingstoke Town to Cams Alders.
Ties are due to be played in the week commencing January 14.
Hampshire Senior Cup quarter-finals: Fareham Town v Basingstoke Town, Sholing v Horndean or AFC Bournemouth, Bournemouth Poppies v Southampton FC, Havant & Waterlooville v Team Solent.
