EASTLEIGH have cancelled defender Ryan Cresswell’s contract by mutual consent.
The 30-year-old Rotherham-born defender joined the Spitfires on a three-year deal from Northampton Town in August 2016, but his stay at the Silverlake was blighted by injury.
Cresswell was sidelined for nearly a year with a knee problem and missed the end of last season with a hamstring injury.
He made just 15 appearances in his first season, 13 in his second and has not featured at all this term for the Vanarama National League club.
“Hopefully he’ll get fit at a club closer to where he lives,” said Eastleigh boss Ben Strevens.
Cresswell was part of the Northampton squad which won the League Two title in 2015/16, making 24 league appearances.
He left the Cobblers at the end of that season with a year left on his contract.
