CEDRIC Soares is in advanced talks with Inter Milan, according to Sky in Italy.

The defender has been subject to speculation throughout the January transfer window regarding a move away from Saints.

Cedric had fallen down the pecking order behind Yan Valery and Kayne Ramsay, however, he regained his spot in the goalless draw with Chelsea before being dropped again.

Manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has made it clear that Saints need to sell players in order to bring fresh faces in, with Manolo Gabbiadini, Steven Davis and Wesley Hoedt already leaving the club.

Cedric signed for the St Mary’s side in 2015 when Ronald Koeman was in charge and has made over 100 appearances for Saints.

The right back was tipped for a move to Everton due to his links with their boss Marco Silva, but that move failed to materialise.

And according to the reports, that left the door open for Inter Milan to make a move for the Portuguese defender who has a European Championship title to his name.
