Romsey-born and ex-Chelsea midfielder Nigel Spackman has backed Saints to stay in the Premier League.
Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side are two points above the relegation zone but have a game in hand over rivals Burnley.
And Spackman, who also played for Liverpool during his career, spoke highly about the Saints boss ahead of his former side’s visit to St Mary’s next month.
The former midfielder said: “Hasenhuttl is a good manager, a good coach.
“He is very forward thinking.
“He is the type of coach who likes to play attacking football as well and if they can keep it tight at the back then they will stay up.”
