SAM Gallagher has completed his move to Blackburn Rovers.

The striker, who joined Saints back in 2012, has joined the Championship club for £5m on a four-year deal.

Gallagher made his St Mary's debut in 2013 and went on to make another 25 appearances, scoring twice.

Manager Ralph Hasenhuttl left the former Plymouth lad at home for his side's pre-season trip to Austria so that he could sort his future out.

The arrival of Che Adams had pushed Gallagher further down the pecking order, with him, understandably, wanting first team football at this point in his career.

There had been considerable interest in the 23-year-old, as both Wigan and Brentford were also chasing his signature.

However, after spending the 2016/17 season on loan at Rovers, he favoured a move back to Ewood Park.
