A FOOTBALL team has gone green by creating an eco-friendly swap store.
Romsey Town Youth FC has started a swap and second hand virtual shop for unused and previously owned football kit and equipment.
To help to ensure that kits are being reused once teams have grown out of them, the club has created a Facebook selling and buying page.
All of the money raised is being re-invested into the club to provide future opportunities.
Ed Hardwicke, vice chair of the football club, said: "The key aim of the initiative however is to make sure the club, as a key member of the local community, is doing more to improve its environmental sustainability responsibilities."
The club is run by a small number of volunteers with generous sponsors providing kit for each team in the club, of which there are nearly 30.
Romsey Town Youth FC is looking for new players - particularly covering Year R through to Year 3.
It also runs a Saturday morning ‘Soccer School’ to support the development of this cohort of players.
