SAINTS clinched a famous 2-1 win at St Mary’s on this day seven years ago.

Goals from Jay Rodriguez and Rickie Lambert were enough to see Mauricio Pochettino’s’ side seal three points.

After the match, Pochettino told the Daily Echo: “In front of us was Chelsea, the champions of Europe, and it’s completely normal that in the second half Chelsea were looking to get the win. “In the overall analysis of the game we deserved the win and had good chances to get a better result but we weren’t able to score.

“I am really happy with the performance of my players and especially the players that don’t normally get to play as much.”
