Soccer Saturday host Jeff Stelling branded Celtic's games in hand over Rangers 'irrelevant' after Steven Gerrard's men sailed 23 points ahead of their rivals.

The Hoops have lost twice and drawn seven games in the league and are miles behind Gers who won 5-0 against Ross County earlier this afternoon.

While reading through the league tables in the daily roundup from Sky Sports' popular show, Hampshire resident Stelling insisted Celts have virtually no chance of clawing back the lead despite two games in hand.

One fan posted footage from this afternoon's coverage, sarcastically saying: "Tell us what you think Jeff."

And Stelling said: "In Scotland there were just a couple of games played in the Premiership and Rangers extend their lead at the top of the table to 23 points. Celtic have three games in hand which, frankly, is totally irrelevant."
