SOUTHAMPTON teenager Rossi Banham has signed with MJL Racing Team, ahead of the 2021 Bennetts British Superbikes Championship.

Banham, 16, will compete in the Honda British Talent Cup, part of Dorna's Road to MotoGP programme, and is the sole British Moto3 Championship class consisting of eight rounds, each a double header with an extra round added in at the British MotoGP round.

Banham formed his love for motorcycles at a very young age and started racing in 2016 with official British Superbikes partner, FAB-Racing where he came second in the 140cc class.

He made the leap to British Superbikes in the National Junior Supersport series in 2019 with the WAM Racing team on a two-year contract, continuing to learn the tracks on the British circuit.

Banham said: “I am so thankful to the MJL Racing team for giving me this big opportunity for the 2021 season.

"I am looking forward to racing in the British Talent Cup aboard the Honda NSF250R, where I am looking to progress up the grid and hopefully get some podiums along the way.

"It is a new championship for me so anything could happen, I have been training a lot and feeling good for the season to begin.”

The season is due to begin at Oulton Park in June.
