All urged to come aboard.

There was a packed house at Romsey Sport Centre for the ninth annual meeting of Old Tauntonians and Romsey Cricket Club.

Club chairman Nick Wood opened the proceedings with his report in which he spoke of a disappointing season at the top end of the club with the first team getting relegated to the Southern Electric Premier Division 3, but he was happy to report a more positive outlook on the lower teams.

The chairman praised Phil Wyatt and his helpers for organising a successful six-a-side competition but stressed the need for more collective effort and asked all members to work together to promote the name of the club. After thanking the committee for all their hard work he stood down from the post.

Treasurer Mike Tucker was next on stage. His report was that of a small profit but alerted members that without the sponsorship deal and fund raising things could get tight.

In the election of officers Lord Brayborne (Romsey) and John Gere will continue in their posts as patron and president respectively while Tony Forward takes over from Nick Wood as chairman. Max Smith, pictured above, continues as club captain with Nick De Stefano (1st XI), Steve Caldecott (2nds), Pete Cox (3rds) and Jim Stewart (4th XI) taking on the team captain roles.

After any other business the meeting closed.
