ECB Southern Electric Premier League - Division 1.

Hursley Park (222ao) lost to Bashley (296-5).

After surviving a torrid opening spell from Hampshire paceman Billy Taylor, pictured, Glyn Treagus recorded his first Premier League century for Bashley.

He lost opening partner Neil Thurgood to a steeply rising delivery from Taylor and his captain Andy Sexton who holed out at deep mid-off to brother Martin Taylor. After that Treagus and Chris Jones took control, adding 187 in quick time. Treagus dominated, hitting 25 boundaries in his 134.

Jones was bowled for a classy 60 by Oli Green but Dan Friedman continued the pressure with a brisk 36. Treagus was finally caught by Chris Wheeler who had earlier pouched him from a no ball. Another nonchalant one handed effort at mid-wicket concluded the home side's innings on 296 for 5.

Hursley lost their customary early wickets as Ben Smyth and Paul Edwards went quickly but Raman Prendergast and Jimmy Taylor added 38 before Taylor became Max Waller's first victim for a boundary-strewn 25. Prendergast followed soon after for 40 and the visitors slumped to 109 for 6.

Enter Scott Mills who proceeded to blitz the legside boundary with a series of powerful pulls as he raced to a maiden Premier 1 fifty. His 72 included 5 sixes and 6 fours and lasted 53 balls. He found allies in Green, Sivier and Steele as the score raced past 200. He finally was caught on the mid-wicket boundary as Hursley suffered a 74-run defeat.
