A public consultation is being held over two days where people will get the chance to say how they would like to see the building used.

Gary Wilburn, managing director at the design firm, said: "We are simply trying to do a great project and bring an old and important building back to life for the betterment of the community.

"It is a genuinely great thing for Romsey."

Several plans have been previously made to refurbish the house over many years, including plans to turn it into a youth hostel, however none have got off the ground due to a whole host of reasons including economic viability.

This has seen the building remain derelict for a number of years.

Gary said they hoped the new plans would create a project that suits the needs of the community, while also adhering to Railway Industry conditions.

He said: "This is us asking the public what they would like to see, and we are keen to get their feedback. Everyone has a view about what it should be used for and we want to deliver something that works for everyone. That's the point of our consultation - I urge people to show up."

Gary said they would be also be working on projects at Woolston and Shawford Stations where refurbishment will begin very soon. Details of these projects will be at the consultation.

ep projects has been appointed as lead consultants on the refurbishment and regeneration of the building.

Representatives from the firm along with The Three Rivers Community Rail Partnership will be in attendance at the public consultation to answer questions.

Presentation boards will be available for viewing at Romsey Town Hall:

Friday, February 11 - 9.30am until 5pm.

Saturday, February 12 - 9.30am until 1pm.
